Welcome: why I started this newsletter
And more about me and my background
Hi there!
I started this newsletter because I absolutely love being a pediatrician.
I love the kids, the families, and everything that goes into providing the best care possible. I completed medical school at George Washington University and my pediatric residency at UCSF.
I’ve spent the last ten years working in hospitals, urgent care, primary care, telehealth, and as of August 2025, I will have my own clinic in Atlanta — Kirkwood Pediatrics.
As a primary care pediatrician, I have conversations with parents about a huge range of topics. I love when we can talk through something, put it in to action, and see results.
This newsletter is a way for me to take all that I’ve learned alongside my patients, and bring it to more and more families.
I continue to be surprised how much about the health of children is hard for parents to find, adding stress and uncertainty to an already very hard job. I also find the health system frequently fails to give parents simple tools, resources, and explanations to better educate and empower them.
This newsletter and our website will be growing source of practical, common, and actionable knowledge to make parenting easier and our kiddos healthier.
Thanks for coming by!
Dr. Emily
